The University of Bonn invites you to the autumn meeting of the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V., which will take place in 2025 under the theme "Provenance and restitution - transdisciplinary thinking".
The conference promotes a transdisciplinary dialogue on methods and discourses of provenance research as well as on the complex issues of restitution. Both historical and current aspects of the restitution of cultural assets from colonial and National Socialist contexts as well as from the time of the Soviet occupation zone and the GDR will be discussed.
Researchers from various disciplines - from art history and law to medicine and the natural sciences - are invited to contribute their findings on new methods and practice-orientated approaches. Special attention is also paid to the ethical dimensions and political issues of restitution as well as the communication of the results in public and academic spaces.
